This position will support our Tribal Attorney in various assignments and cases through cite checks, computerized research, analysis, writing and client interaction.


  • Search for and study legal documents to investigate facts and law of cases, to determine causes of action and to prepare cases.
  • Research and analyze law sources to prepare memorandums, arguments and reports for review, approval, and use by attorney
  • Interact with clients and develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
  • Prefer individual to work at the Government Center, although some work can be done remotely.
  • Work on various areas of law including ICWA
  • Opportunity to appear in court and prepare cases.
  • Works cooperatively within the office, Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation, and other agencies; as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.


  • One year of Law School.
  • Valid Kansas driver's license, must be insurable with the Nation's insurance.
  • Must possess excellent research and writing skills.
  • Must possess strong written and oral communication skills with an excellent attention to detail.
  • Must possess professional work ethics, manner, and appearance.
  • Must possess the ability to operate general office equipment, including but not limited to: 10-key calculator, telephone, computer and operating systems, computer software programs (Microsoft Office programs), fax/copier machine.
  • Must be available to work the assigned schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00A-4:30P.
  • Must possess a proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • A record of satisfactory attendance and performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.

  • Ability to perform daily activities, including but not limited to: filing, answering the telephone, operating office equipment,
